Wandering Souls reimagines Ovid’s Metamorphoses through Sardinian myth, music and ritual. Guided by Pythagoras and the Fate who cuts the thread of life, intertwined stories of transformation move between reality and fantasy, culminating in the island’s archaic carnival masks — figures neither human nor animal. Nature comes to the foreground as forms pass between human, animal and divine worlds.
Anime Galleggianti was developed through Itineranze DOC and This Is It – When East Meets West, with support from the Fondazione Sardegna Film Commission. Following its world premiere at Alice nella Città / Festa del Cinema di Roma, the film screened at the Trieste Film Festival, where it received the Premio Corso Salani, and later earned an Honorable Mention at Image Ouverte in Paris. It is currently distributed by Pathos Distribution.
